The art of adorning windows

If house-keeping is science, furnishing must be considered an art, says an interior designer from Mumbai, Shoba Diwakar, who has been doing soft furnishing for films and television serials.

Going by the variety available in the market, such statements no longer sound exaggerated.

“The exercise of furnishing would have been simple with a modest variety available, but these are days when choices are aplenty and there begins the coordination and visualisation snags. Professionals can not only help choose, but can also do it by bringing a theme and thought to your dwelling,” she says.

Although curtains do play a paramount role, it is the accessories that go with them that make them what they are and help them evolve into a piece of art.

Accessories have a huge market and are most often clubbed and displayed.
