Preparing a bed

A good sleep is possible only on a firm and clean mattress, hence take a little care
|
After all the rigours of the day including driving around, long hours at the workplace, with walk and run, the body just craves to relax. Thus, the bed that you use has an important role in ensuring good sleep. The bed should be allowed to air out every now and then. Do not always cover it with a bedspread every day, your bed needs air. One suggestion to prevent unwanted stains on your top mattress is to use a mattress cover. These should be washable and provide protectio
n for your top mattress.
Vacuuming
Your bed needs vacuuming at regular intervals. The easiest way to clean your adjustable bed is to raise the head and foot sections. With the bed in this position it is a simple matter to vacuum underneath.
Beds need to be turned every two to six months. This can be is easily done by two to four people and the topside and the head and foot end should change places. Do not fold or bend the mattress more than necessary. Turn the mattress at regular intervals making sure the filling is evenly distributed.
A ‘bed massage’ at regular intervals also helps the bed retain its comfort for a longer period of time. To do this, massage the bed from the centre out towards the edges. Form your hands into fists and press down towards the bottom of the bed and move your hands in an even pattern from the middle of the bed towards the edges.
At times, unwelcome stains can find their way on to your bed linen. Regular washing in water will remove most of these stains with no problem. Fruit stains can be removed with a citric acid solution. Use citric acid (or tartaric acid) and lukewarm water for the solution. Rinse the stain with a damp sponge and make sure you wring out the sponge after each application. Ink stains can be removed by using ethanol or a citric acid solution. Exercise caution when using ethanol, this solvent is both flammable and toxic. Treat the stain with a solution made of ammonia and soapy water. Lip stick stains can be removed by using perchlorethylene and/or ethanol. Nail polish stains are best removed using acetone.
Foaming
Hastens, the luxury bed-maker, recommends that you remove stains from a top mattress by cleaning it with furniture foam according to the instructions on the cleaning product.
