Sri Ramakrishna Advanced Training Institute in Coimbatore has entered into an agreement with the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) and Indian Institute of Plumbing (IIP).
The institute is setting up a 8,500 sq.ft. plumbing laboratory and the agreement will facilitate IPA approval for it.
The institute entered into an agreement earlier with the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) to offer training programmes for master plumbers and engineers. The courses will start next month with 20 students a batch. The duration of the training will be one year. The laboratory will be ready by the first week of July.
The agreement with IPA and IIP will also help in companies extending support to the laboratory. The institute has invested about Rs. 10 lakh and will invest another Rs. 25 lakh. The project will benefit civil, mechanical and environmental engineers and the plumbers. The institute plans to start a plumbing testing laboratory too shortly.
