Anti-ant channel

The anti-ant channel bordering every building on the IISE campus is another innovative feature. When fully operationalised, this channel will keep away ants and termites from entering the buildings. “It is basically a channel of flowing water. By pumping a small amount of water from an overhead tank to these channels, they will keep insects and termites from getting into the buildings. As it is running water, there is also no danger of mosquito- breeding,” Paul Kronenberg of the institute says.
