North-south road transport corridor

A government appointed taskforce has suggested the development of a north-south road transport corridor with the participation of the private sector. Better road connectivity between the southern and northern districts has become a necessity with the prospects of developing the tourism industry in the State.

However, this needs to be done after a techno-economic feasibility study. The development of missing links and improvement of existing roads along with the hill highway and coastal roads are other suggestions.
