Carbon credit sought for green power

Buoyed by the success of generating power from sewage, an urban local body in Surat has sought carbon credit for its green gas project. “We have not only been able to reduce the greenhouse gas emission but also minimise the grid power consumption. Now we are gearing to earn about 50,000 units of carbon credit per year for the successful generation of the green gas,” Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner S. Aparna said..” — PTI
