A new series of textbooks that promises to be fun.

"Oh no! Not again! Not another bunch of boring study books!" Well, at best, the "Freedom" series books and the revised "Living Science" series of books, do not belong to this category. The series from 0 5, based on the National Curriculum Framework for School Education, 2000, have large attractive pictures. The basic book has match the following, dot and colour, complete the names and mazes interspersed with pictures to colour, small poems and imagine! Series 1 5 has a similar format, with more advanced information. A highlight is the "green pages" titled "Save the earth.". A unique factor is the "Sci time Fun time" page, where interesting projects like making a garden in a glass jar, or a simple sundial are given. A page is dedicated to yoga with illustrations and instruction. And a "scictionary" a dictionary of scientific terms.
When it comes to the advanced series of 6 to 8, subtitled "A book of science and technology" and based on the latest NCERT syllabus of Science and Technology for the Upper Primary Stage (for Std. VI, VII and VIII), illustrations and colour still rule the page. Interesting is the "To meet" section witha profile and picture of a scientist. The series "Freedom" is aimed to liberate the child from the burden of the school bag. The three books for the three terms contain English, Maths, Environmental Science and Social Studies.
