Social promotion

We need more dedicated teachers.

This is in response to the article "To the next class" which appeared in the Quest May 8. There have been many arguments about this the last few years. However, one fact that no one seems to consider is how good the teachers are. For most teachers today it is just another job with lesser work and many holidays. Another reason for the increasing number of failures is the attitude of teachers towards a weak or shy student. Very few teachers make time to persuade these children to come out of their cocoons. The problem lies in the need to re-organise the B. Ed course to make it more competitive so that only the talented and interested can qualify.
