Rolex – the trusted name in luxury watches has come out with two of its latest watches, the Rolex Daytona and Rolex Prince.
Rolex Prince- This latest yellow gold watch has drawn inspiration from an original 1920’s model. The Rolex Prince is a gem amongst wristwatches. It has pioneered the novel concept of using technical know-how to enhance design in an effort to ensure total balance between the aesthetics of the watch, the movement, the case, the dial and the strap. The movement - a Swiss chronometer - is rectangular in shape with 21 jewels and makes use of all the available space to ensure performance and reliability. For the first time, a Rolex movement is on show through a transparent case back that reveals a guilloche decoration on the movement echoing that on the dial. On the champagne Clou de Paris dial, hours and minutes are displayed separately above the seconds. Sleek, smooth and sophisticated, the elongated case offer something to suit every taste, and the transparent case back adds an extra touch of elegance. Finally, the leather strap has been fitted with a gold butterfly clasp, giving the watch perfect balance. The Rolex Prince is at the same time a precise mechanical instrument and a lesson in aesthetics.
Rolex Daytona- The blazing steel and yellow gold combination gives the Rolex Daytona a distinct aura. The peerless chronometer and chronograph, the Daytona is equipped with a sweep second hand, minute and hour totalisaters and a tachometer bezel. The Daytona uses the Rolex Trip lock screw down crown as well as screw down pushers to ensure water resistance.The Daytona dial is a joy. The yellow gold markers and stick hands are both legible and beautiful. It has very traditional dial layout of the very readable silver chronometer registers, with the second hand register at a sensible 6 o’clock position.The Rolex Oyster bracelet and clasp are quite different than any other Rolex sport watch, and greatly improved. Not only does the bracelet have solid end links, but it also has solid centre links. The bracelet is easily self-sized via the screwed in adjustable links. The Daytona flip lock clasp is substantial and high in quality. It employs a freely sprung balance and shock absorption. The Daytona is also considered Rolex’s most finely finished movement. A favourite of professional drivers, it calculates average speeds and lap times. This stainless steel Daytona has become the most sought after watches of all time.
