Lead time is crucial

Bigger the lead time or time taken to deliver, greater is the risk of losing the customer. The middle classes form the core nucleus of our clientele base. One look at the enormous range on display at any of our stores and the customer finds it difficult to choose from such a mind-boggling variety.

LEAST lead times often tilt the scales in favour of a particular brand or retail outlet in the furniture market. This is all the more profound in this segment as lead time is the biggest risk factor in this business according to Mr. Sunil L, CEO of Furniture World chain. “Bigger the lead time or time taken to deliver, greater is the risk of losing the customer” says he. This coming from a man who heads one of the biggest furniture retailing chains in AP comes as a revelation in the biz world which is mostly obsessed with price, ambience and service.
“Service, ambience and range are also success factors which are equally paramount to a project’s market standing.
We at Furniture World attach considerable significance to factors like ambience and shop area. In fact all our stores are spread across mammoth floor areas of anything above 15000 sq.ft.” avers Mr. Sunil.
The furniture retail chain showcases some of the best domestic and imported products pertaining to home and office furniture. The company imports and retails furniture from places like Malaysia, New Zealand, Taiwan and other places. It caters to the upper-middle and middle classes through its price-sensitized range of products. “The middle classes form the core nucleus of our clientele base” says Mr. Sunil.
The chain is spread across AP with presence in neighbouring Bangalore. Vast range of showcased products replete with varied designs, utilities and price tags is the biggest strength of Furniture World. The company manages to stay on top leveraging sheer volumes. It has an eclectic mix of domestic and corporate clients who look for value added deals. Turn-key corporate projects are also undertaken as per the requirement.
Talking about the increasingly discerning consumers who demand customized outputs, Mr. Sunil says “We do not undertake production of customized orders. Rather we do not need to, as our incredibly huge product range augments various and varied needs. One look at the enormous range on display at any of our stores and the customer finds it difficult to choose from such a mind-boggling variety.”
As part of its ambitious expansion plans, the chain is soon going to launch a mega furniture mall in Secunderabad which would be retailing top-end products from a vast expanse of 80,000sq.ft of showroom area. Talking about the hallmarks of Furniture World, Mr. Sunil pinpoints the service factor and says “Be it a customer who comes looking for a simple sofa set or a corporate hunting for bulk deals in office furniture, we attach equal significance and deliver accordingly. Our service-centric approach is our main strength along with the least lead time we consume to deliver.” Well, if an organization is powered by such strong service policies, success would not take too much of a lead time to present itself on a platter.
