Heavenly Hues!

Planning to smarten up your home or office, just a splatter of right colour may do the trick!

Think of sleeping in a room that is painted in jarring red, you will do no good to your exhausted nerves. And a boss who isn’t worried over his employee’s performance can go ahead and create a dreamy atmosphere for their cabins. Colours! They are here, there, everywhere. But do ensure that you add the right splash of colours to your lives!

“Having constant renovations is today’s trend in architecture, the ability to transform the function with minimal cost. The first and instant change will of course be the colour. It plays an active visual transformation and has an expression to convey. It attracts and distracts the mood of the beholder.” informs Bina.j, Architect. Briefing on the utility of colours, Anitha, interior designer says, “ You can use it either to camouflage or to identify. In both functions, the premise is to merge or distinguish oneself from a larger group or environment.”

Planning to liven your living room, “ light up with peach and biscuit browns and make it an inviting one. Or go in for a blue bell white with velvet touch for that refreshing sense.” Opines Bina. For the family room, she suggests a tint of yellow ochre on one wall to celebrate warmth. And for the precious little ones, she says, “Red, yellow, blue and baby pink will draw them into their own world!”

Now, how to colour your corporate world? Anitha enlightens on the options available, “ Some colors motivate, while other colors can distract. Having the right colors can make your office a better place to work. If you are easily distracted, you may need to surround yourself with soft, muted colors to relax and calm you, and help you get down to work. If you find motivation lagging, you may want to surround yourself with brighter colors to provide you with more energy. Decide which colors best motivate you, and project the right image for your working environment.”

Go ahead and splurge yourself in the world of colours! Contact Anitha Balaji, Orange designs, at 9940466778 or Bina.J, Integral Construction Engineers Madras Pvt. Ltd at 044-26280223.
