Accessorise your look

Teens are keeping their accessories simple and sober. Their all new classy look is haute in the streets.

GONE are the days of lasses sporting heavy ornaments or boys flaunting menacing pendants. Teenagers have now rediscovered the charms of graceful trinkets that enhance their personality. J. Asha, a medical student has fallen for those delicately done beaded bracelets.

Flaunting a sample, she says “These bracelets are very much in now! They render a feminine touch to almost anything you wear, be it Jeans or Skirts.”

“As far as ear rings are concerned, hoops are back again. It’s closet time for those heavy add-ons!” she smilingly adds. Her friend Suman. G votes for the dainty anklets as the hottest craze. “We sport it on a single leg,” she says pointing to the piece that adorns her feet.

It is sneakers that decorate Deepti’s feet. This engineering student has a fetish for these cool foot wears. “They are so very comfortable and they blend well with every piece of clothing I wear.”

The high risk heels are consigned to the cupboard, bringing sneakers and coolers to the street. “Most of us wear flats today!” quips Suman, “We go in for the straddled sandals which comes in an economic price range. And brands? We are not fussy about it.” Seventeen year old David Roy strikes a different chord, “For me, I am very particular about the brand of shoes I sport. Nike is my all time favourite!

And accessories? We guys rarely sport any. And of course, I love my Ray-Ban!” he adds as an afterthought. “There is only one passion in my life” smiles Siddarth. K. “That’s my Nokia N 70! Am inseparable from my mobile. I generally don’t sport any trinket! It is a Bluetooth headset that I wear as a style statement!” this tech savvy teenager proudly declares.

Teenagers today are playing down the tone of their accessories and are opting to impress with a graceful look.
