Want to make Valentine’s into a special occasion at home? Here are some tips to jazz up your home and let that love flow

Decorating your home for that special someone can be exciting and romantic. The most important task would be cleaning up your space and making sure that any possible disturbances are taken care of (like the incessant ringing of your mobile!). Decorations need not be expensive. Make it simple! Little notes that declare your love or with a humorous slant could be hidden in places where they are likely to found! Drape your room in passionate red or get imaginative using innovative colours that signify passion or romance like pink or purple. Add on a cosy rug or inexpensive throw that lends warmth to the ambience.
Bring home some exotic wild flowers or a long stemmed rose for the centrepiece. Artificial flowers too are a viable option and they come with an added bonus – they last! Aromatic candles will definitely enhance the romantic mood, but do make sure the incense isn’t too strong. If you have got dimmer options for your lights, put them to use. Red balloons can be used to fill up those empty spaces in your room. You can even try those ‘I love you’ posted balloons or heart-shaped ones. Play songs that are special to you both and keep the volume low. Let the music play softly in the background as you lose yourself in intimate conversations. Place some homemade chocolates in a glass bowl in a corner; chocolates and romance – now what could be better?
If you are looking at revamping your home in the long-term in a romantic manner, you can opt for French windows for your huge wooden panes. Also, frame a natural shot of your shared moments and place it high in your room. If you want something more special, you can even put up a roof garden for the two of you to spend some quality time together. Put in a couple of love seats and some ambient lighting and let the passion flow!
