Spring Summer 2008 Preview
Vimonisha Gallery begins the year with its reputed Private Collection shows which are held six times each year. The first for this year, is the Spring /Summer 2008 preview, as all designers across the country from Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Bangalore and Chennai are gearing up for the new fashion season to come. The new colour palette for this Spring-Summer are lots of fresh fruity colours like raspberry pink, mandarin orange, mango, and kiwi green!
Alpana from Mumbai brings a trendy new collection of tunics, cropped tops and salwar suits, intricately embroidered in linen, cotton and silk. Tone –on –tone palette combined with bright solid hues, gives it a very classy and chic look. The look is understated, uncluttered, and without too much bling!
Ananya’s Collection Bangalore, brings a wide range of exclusive unstitched salwar suits in organza, tussar silks, crepes, chiffons and other fabrics. In keeping with the trendy shades of cool greens, sunny yellows and moody blues, the prints and colours are bold, floral and fun.
Samaroho, a renowned boutique from Kolkata, displays its creative and inspiring range of hand embroidered garments and fabrics, tops, salwar kameez, and handbags .The piece de resistance is the exclusive line of sarees in silks, tussars , cottons and crepes.
Devaki’s from Bangalore with unstitched fabrics, primarily in cotton enhanced with block print or embroidery and appliqué work. The range of cotton sets ranges from Rs.450/- to Rs.1,000/-. The cotton sarees (Kerala sarees and Belgaum cottons) are block printed and in the range ofRs.500/- to Rs.700/-. Bangalore silks, Kanjeevarams &Tussars are block printed and enhanced further with aariwork,kutchwork and machine embroidery, ranging from Rs.2,000/- to Rs.4,000.
ANZ Designs, Mumbai are designers of handcrafted evening bags, kurtis and accessories for women who value style with substance. These are crafted by master craftsmen, laced with crystals, metal embelishments, brass handles, mother of pearls on a variety of materials like brocade, raw silk, tissue and leather.
