Casually Comfortable

After his brilliant performance as a psychotic kidnapper in the recently released blockbuster, Anjathe, actor Prasanna’s chocolate boy image has melted away. Retail Plus discovers his shopping mantras

He might be a happening star, but Prasanna has managed to remain quite unaffected by the glitz and glamour of Kollywood when it comes to his ensemble. “Comfort-fit casuals and stylish formal shirts take my vote. Brands like Indian Terrain and Levis look good and feel great. I think Chennai is the ultimate shopping hub for clothes. Globus, Lifestyle, United Colors of Benetton, Gabbana and a bunch of shops lining Khader Nawaz Khan Road have mostly everything that I need,” he says.

Watches really get this dashing performer ticking! “I have my own collection of six or seven branded watches, which I mix and match with my outfits, according to the occasion. Casio and Tag Heuer highlight this assortment.” As far as gadgets go, Prasanna says, “I am in love with my Apple I-pod and have it turned on all the time. My Nokia N95 helps me stay connected, while my Hewlett Packard laptop ensures I am always on top of my work. But, I don’t really fancy gizmos other than for their basic functional aspects.”

Prasanna enjoys getting a bite to eat amidst his shopping sprees in places like Residency Towers, BBQ Nation , Coffee World and Amethyst. The down-to-earth person that he is, Prasanna also frankly admits, “The farthest destination I have travelled to do my shopping is Bangalore. If it’s Pondy Bazaar here, it’s Brigade Road, Commercial Street and the Forum there, for me!” When asked about what he would buy for his ladylove, Prasanna blushes and exclaims, “Oh! That would probably have to be very expensive. Maybe a platinum ring or a branded diamond studded necklace would make the perfect gift, because I think women love jewellery.”
