"Chennai is ready!"

More fashion adds pizzazz to Chennai's fast growing clothing market, making it vibrant. Four youngsters preview their lines at a city store.

Four Chennai youngsters previewed their collections yesterday at gabbana.life on Khader Nawaz Khan Road. Says Osman Abdul Razak, whose label Boque, is being introduced as a 'market preview' to the label, "Everyone in the city travels internationally and people here are aware of international fashion. Chennai is quite ready (for the international look)." Nishani Manohar, whose label hip curve featuring clothes and accessories has been soft launched at gabbana.life about a couple of months ago, previewed her clothing line over what they billed as 'Chai' in lieu of the conventional wine and cheese that most launches host.

Along with them, the duo Zafir and Shadab, brothers - showcased their couture wear line for men in their name that comprises jackets, shirts and shoes.

These three new lines will add value to the made-to-order, customised suits, sherwanis, ethnic wear and more that comprise the Gabbana label in this year-old store. Says Osman, "We wanted to give Chennai the pleasure of choosing from Mumbai's Gabbana - known for its pret, and good tailoring. We are basically offering the city access to their international stock of clothing." Besides these, gabbana.life stocks Italian labels like Nina, Working Overtime, Nemo, Space, CNC and others.
