A musical journey


Team Radiance launched their second music album Pudhu Yugam recently at Museum Theatre, Egmore. The event was presided over by S.P.B Charan and had RJ Dheena and RJ Yo Yo present as well. The album has eight songs sung by Airtel super singers, Ajesh, Vijay Narain, Kedarrnath, Srikanth, Divya and Kavya of which three of the songs were performed during the launch. The album has teamed up with a nonprofit group, Maatrutva who would be using a portion of the profit from the sales for the improvement of slum areas near Tambaram. Spencer's Retail Limited has opened its 47th store in Arcot Road in Chennai, spread over 4000 sq. ft., that offers a wide range and assortment of merchandise in food and grocery, fruits and vegetables, electrical and electronics, toys and personal care.

Dance


Madhurima, the versatile Kuchipudi Dancer and performer who runs her own dance school in Chennai, teaching classical, folk and fusion dances to her students has been selected as a team member to visit Zurich, Switzerland from 25th to 30th August 2009 for the 'India - India Summer Festival 2009'.

Last year, for the first time, Switzerland was introduced to the sounds and sights of India right in the centre of Zurich city over a three-day Mega Mela. Now the India Summer Festival 2009 is taking place again, as a three-day carnival at the Main Hall of the Zurich Main Station, combining concerts and cultural shows, an Indian Bazaar, stage performances, workshops, activities for children, live stations and DJ parties. The cultural part of this festival is being coordinated by the South Zone Cultural Centre in Thanjavur. Madhurima is the sole dancer selected to perform Kuchipudi at this festival.

Footprint


Pavers England Footprints Limited, a venture from the London-based Pavers Foresight Smart Ventures and Chennai based Forward Group, unveiled its first exclusive franchise store at the departure terminal of Domestic Airport in Chennai. Deputy British High Commissioner, Mike Connor launched the store in the presence of Yavar Dhala, Managing Director, Utsav Seth, CEO and Chennai Airport Director K. Natarajan, who was guest of Honour.
