Housefull @ Full Circle
The Full Circle book store perched on the first floor of Chamiers, was an apt venue for a dialogue between Carnatic music maestro, TM Krishna and Nirmala Lakshman, Joint Editor of The Hindu on matters of the art and the heart. The two protagonists of the evening have known each other for long and hence the dialogue ranged between experiences which have shaped their lives to how they have been able to influence the architecture of music and journalism.
While Nirmala talked about how her book, 'Writing a Nation' was born out of articles which have influenced the course of a nation, TM Krishna waxed eloquent about his a coffee table book, 'Voices', which is about enigmatic personalities of Indian Classical music.
Patrons of Full Circle and art lovers watched the two talk about how love for their professions have helped them scale peaks. Gopika Varma and Prashanthi immersed themselves in the rendition by Krishna while Rangashree had a few suggestions for him on promoting Carnatic music at the school level.
