What's in, this season

The party season just swished by but the celebrations continue as we roll towards the end of the year bonhomie. What's the fashion forecast?

It is all about dressing up and looking colourful in the extended party season. Those for whom the celebrations never end discover new facets to fashion each time. Erum Ali who is known for her wedding wear says that her approach this season is to keep it minimalistic. She suggests fabrics like brocade, crushed silk, crepe and georgette. She also says that Jaipur prints and animal prints are popular this season.

Sidney Sladen, the 'chameleon' of design known for his Kollywood connections agrees with the current trends. But he goes one step further to add colour and complication with embellishments. He has been dressing his clients with Anarkalis and straight kurtas with chudis.

At this juncture, for men, here are some tips for making your ensemble really hot. We had Chitanya Rao, help - starting off with a simple party shirt for our model . The next step was to add color with a multi coloured vest. In case you wanted to tone the look down, a sequined jacket covering the vest does the trick. The versatility of the ensemble is awesome as it allows you breeze in and out of many a party without having to change.

As for the ladies, 'chamakchallo' is the mantra. A hot pink Anarkali with an orange duppatta had our lovely model instantly transform into a Bollywood heroine ready to rock the night away at a desi party.
