Intercropping in banana

Can I plant watermelon as an intercrop in my banana (karporavalli variety) plantation in one acre. I have planted the banana suckers during the second week of January

J. Samuel Raj
Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu

It is not the correct season for planting watermelons as an intercrop. You may plant vegetable crops such as pumpkin, bittergourd and ridge gourd as intercrops.
