Banana infestation

The banana plants in my field (rasthali variety in Tamil) have been affected by wilt infestations. How can the spread of this infestation be controlled?

V. Krishnan
Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu

Spraying copper oxychloride or carbendazim 2 gms dissolved in one litre of water once every fifteen days may help in the control of the infestation. You can also pour the solution at the roots of the plants to prevent infestations from the soil affecting the plants.
