FARM QUERIES

Unfit for consumption

The mango fruits from our garden are infested with worms rendering them unfit for consumption. What can be done to control the entry of worms in the fruits?

V.C. Raghavan Nambiar
Kannur

Worm infestation in mangoes usually occurs during the flowering stages. You may spray cypermethrin or malathion 2 ml diluted in one litre of water when the trees start flowering weekly once for a month.
