Flowering in chilli

How to induce flowering in chilli plants?

A. R. Achary
Chennai

* * *

Flowering can be induced by spraying Indole acetic acid (100-200ppm) on seedlings after 15-20days of transplanting. Dipping the seedlings in IAA (100-200) solution or spraying triacontanol (5ppm) has been found effective. If overgrown seedlings are transplanted, pruning excess foliage also initiates flowering.
