FARM QUERIES

Nut fall

Is there any remedy to prevent nut fall in my coconut tree aged about 6 years?

S. KUPPUSWAMY
Bangalore

Application of NPK (urea, phosphorus and potash) fertilizer is a must once every 6 months for healthy growth and nut formation in coconut trees. In addition you may mix 10 ml of monocrotophos diluted in 10ml of water in a polythene packet. Make a slant cut on a new growing root of the tree and dip the cut end inside the packet and tie the mouth and bury it in the soil. Do not pluck the coconuts for a period of 3 months.
