FARM QUERIES

Pink coloured worms

Some pink coloured, soft- bodied worms, each about a centimetre long, are found nestling inside the heartwood of my citrus tree. How do I get rid of them?

BHARATI JAGANNATHAN
Faridabad

Plugging the holes with a swab soaked in kerosene oil, metacid, metsystox, rogor or any other insecticide, will kill the worms. You can also kill them by hand picking but it is time consuming and labourious.
