Ant menace

My garden is infested with a lot of tiny ants. I have tried several ways of control with little success. Is there any permanent way of controlling them?

S. Vidya Lakshmi
Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu

Ants play an important role in bio diversity and air circulation in the soil. Their constant burrowing creates free air movement inside the soil and the topsoil also gets replaced as they bring the inside soil and deposit them outside their burrows. Complete control is not possible.
