Germs in mangoes

Is it true that one should not consume mango fruits after the onset of monsoon as the fruits contain germs within them?

K. Veraiah

Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

There is no scientific validity to prove that mangoes should not be consumed after the onset of monsoon. The fruits can be consumed throughout the year. The quality of off season fruits will be average compared to that of fruits during the season.
