Manpannai sedi thailam

What is manpannai sedi thailam also called as mud pot plant nutrient?

S. Nagoor Meeran

Ramnad, Tamil Nadu

About 100 gms of vitex (nochi in Tamil) leaves, neem and calotropis (yeruku in Tamil) each, 50 gms of powdered pulses (any pulse), about 1 litre of thick curd or butter milk and 1.5 litres of water are taken. First the leaves are ground into a fine paste, which is then mixed with the powdered pulses. This mixture is then mixed with the curd. To this, about 1.5 litre of water is added and kept inside a cloth sealed mud pot. Every day the solution is stirred clockwise and anticlockwise. After 15-20 days it can be used by diluting 2.5 litres of this in 20 litres of water. It effectively controls pests and also helps as growth promoter for plants. For more details contact Mr. S. Aravindan, Social scientist, VK-Nardep, Kanyakumari - 629 702, Tamil Nadu, email: aravindan.neelakandan@gmail.com, mobile: 9443748714.
