FARM QUERIES

Low budget irrigation

I have about 10 sapota, 5 banana and 15 lemon trees in my small garden. I am interested in drip irrigation for the plants. Is there any simple low cost drip method by which I can irrigate the plants as I am not interested in commercial drip irrigators?

Take empty saline bottles (bottles used for giving IV fluids to patients in hospitals). Fill them with water and hang the bottle upside down a little away from the main stem in such a way the tube touches the surface soil near the root zone of the plant. The bottles can be tied strongly to a separate wooden or strong plastic pole driven into the soil. Adjust the nozzle of the tube in such a way that water starts dripping slowly near the roots.
