Imaging technology to gain from bees’ ability

AFP

Latest research shows bees can learn to recognise human faces even when seen from different viewpoints. Imaging technology programmers working on solving complex visual recognition tasks will find this research useful.

Corrections and Clarifications

The AFP photograph accompanying another item, "Imaging technology to gain from bees' ability" (Snapshots - Science & Technology" page, January 29, 2009), was not of a bee. It showed the Asian wasp (Vespa velutina), a predator of bee hives.
