FARM QUERY

Using rotten eggs

I face a regular problem in disposing rotten eggs from my poultry unit. Can you suggest some method wherein the rotten eggs can be used as manure or bio pest repellent for my fields?

P. Venkateswaran

Namakal, Tamil Nadu

The rotten eggs can be used as a spray by mixing the them with water and spraying all over the plants. The pungent smell helps to ward off wild animals and some insects from damaging the crops. For details on how to use it you can contact Dr, D. Narahari, Emeritus, Professor of poultry Science, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and animal sciences University, Chennai, email: dnarahari@scientist.com, mobile:94448-10639.
