Poultry manure

Is it true that poultry manure is an excellent manure for crops?

M. Edward Manuel

Tamil Nadu

Poultry manure is a unique natural-organic manure, which does not need composting and can be lifted directly from poultry farm to agriculture field. The fertilizer value of one tonne of dried cage poultry manure is equivalent to 100 kg urea, 150kg super phosphate, 50kg potash, 750kg organic matter, 125kg calcium carbonate, 30 kg sulphur, 12 kg sodium chloride, 10kg magnesium sulphate, 5kg ferrous sulphate,1kg manganese sulphate, 1kg zinc sulphate and 1 kg of other trace minerals. It is suitable for most of the crops, especially paddy, sugar cane, plantation crops, floriculture and horticultural crops. However, it is not much advisable for leguminous crops.
