 Cronje sacked but says he didn't receive money
There has been more prevarication and confusion in the Hansigate saga, with the disgraced former Proteas skipper saying that he ``never received any financial rewards'', and only admitting ``an error of judgement''.

Vajpayee briefed
The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, was today briefed about the latest developments in the match-fixing controversy involving South African cricketer, Hansie Cronje, even as the Foreign Office officially refrained from commenting on the subject.

 Pulitzer for Jhumpa Lahiri
Ms. Jhumpa Lahiri, an author of Indian origin, has won the Pulitzer prize for fiction for her debut collection of short stories, Interpreter of Maladies, featuring ``marriages that have been arranged, rushed into, betrayed, invaded and exhausted.''

PM warns Pak. against another Kargil
The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, today warned Pakistan that it would further suffer dismemberment if it attempted yet another Kargil-type misadventure.

Will Samjhauta Express continue to run?
The future of the bi-weekly Samjhauta Express, which has been running twice a week since 1976 between Lahore and Amritsar, appears to be clouded given the recent statements emanating from both Pakistan and India.

India seeks meeting on Friday to discuss issue
India today sought a meeting with the Pakistan railway authorities on April 14 at Zero Point on the Indo-Pak border to discuss the issue of smooth running of the Samjhauta Express.

Oil struck in Rajasthan
Huge reserves of oil and natural gas had been struck in Jaisalmer district in Rajasthan, Oil India sources said.

Dhanush test- fired
An indigenously developed missile Dhanush with a strike range of 150 km Dhanush was today test- fired from a Naval carrier close to the Orissa coast, defence sources said.
