India seeks China's support on terrorism draft
BEIJING, JULY 13. India has sought China's support for its draft
resolution on international terrorism pending before the United
Nations.
The support was sought by the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson, Ms.
Najma Heptulla, during her meeting here on Wednesday with the
senior Chinese leader and chairman of the National Peoples
Congress standing committee, Mr.Li Peng.
The two sides agreed that the issue of international terrorism
has become a major problem and there was need for international
cooperation to fight the growing menace.
The two leaders acknowledged that Narco-terrorism and terrorism
were intertwined and that all countries must cooperate to fight
the common danger.
During her five-day stay here Ms. Heptulla, also held talks with
the vice- chairperson of the standing committee of the NPC, Mr.
He Luli, and other senior Chinese officials.
