Man stabbed by brothers

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, JULY 13.

A 19-year-old boy was stabbed allegedly to death by two brothers of the girl he loved at Gokulpuri in North-East Delhi last night.

The police said Anil Kumar, a resident of 310/490 Nehru Vihar, Gokulpuri, was walking with his brother, Parminder, to his sister, Rama Devi's house in the same colony for dinner at about 10-30 p.m. when the culprits attacked him.

As Anil Kumar and Parminder were walking down a road, five persons -- of whom the two prime accused have been identified as Jitender and Satinder -- blocked their way and surrounded them.

The culprits then began abusing and beating Anil and Parminder. Their ire was primarily directed at Anil, who was subsequently stabbed five times by the culprits after Parminder fled from the spot.

The police said Anil was declared ``brought dead'' at GTB Hospital. It was revealed by Parminder that Jitender and Satinder were among the men who attacked his brother.

Anil Kumar was murdered because he and Poonam, a sister of the two prime accused, were in love. Worse, they continued to have an affair despite opposition from both the families. In the past there had been several confrontations between the two families, but it was only yesterday that the matter turned bloody.
