'Sangh Parivar behind AMU trouble'
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, SEPT. 12. The Communist Party of India (Marxist-
Leninist) Liberation today condemned the Sangh Parivar affiliates
and the BJP for ``attempts to foment communal trouble'' in
Aligarh Muslim University.
In a statement issued here, the party also demanded an inquiry
into an incident in which a student, it said, was picked up by
plain clothesmen who arrived in a vehicle without number plate
and the police later declared the student's arrest.
The CPI(ML) said the Sangh Parivar including the Vishwa Hindu
Parishad and the Bajrang Dal along with communal section of
police and administration were set to ``vitiate the atmosphere in
the University and create communal tension there.''
It said while the saffron brigade was terming the whole academic
community of the University as a ``bunch of anti- nationals'',
the police and administration are suppressing democratic voices
in the campus and justifying their action as crackdown on ISI
agents.
The party appealed to the students, teachers and employees of the
University to ``resolutely oppose the design to malign the
credentials of AMU''.
