TAMBRAS decision in a week
By Our Staff Reporter
VELLORE, MARCH 18. The Tamil Nadu Brahmins Association (TAMBRAS)
will take a decision on which electoral front it should support
at its executive committee meeting to be held in Tiruchi on March
24 and 25, Mr. N. Narayanan, State president, said on Sunday.
Talking to newspersons after the general council meeting of the
Vellore district unit, Mr. Narayanan said he had been given an
appointment by the AIADMK general secretary, Ms.Jayalalitha, for
Tuesday to discuss the demands of the TAMBRAS. The association
would support that front which wholly or partially at least
accepted its demands.
The association wanted any party or front forming the next
government to provide at least one post of Cabinet minister to a
Brahmin.
Its other demands were adequate representation to the community
in the Assembly, reservation for forward communities in education
as well as employment in Tamil Nadu and introduction of a second
shift in all government and aided colleges.
