Designer of bridal wear
The beauty of a woman takes on more meaning when a man adulates
the feminity in her. And when it is a male designer endeavouring
to dress her up to look beautiful on her D-day that is the
wedding day, he certainly becomes a claimant to her heart through
the creative designs that mark her out as the ``Bride''.
Anil Batra, a Delhi-based designer, has always believed in making
a woman look perfect during the day of her marriage.``It is the
most important day of her life and she wants to wear the best,''
he reasons. And over the years, he has acquired the knack of
dressing women in the latest style fashion as he has developed an
innate understanding of what women want.
His bridal collection is considered by many as a blend of
traditional sensibilities with modern spirits. ``My main focus is
on wearability and affordability by all sections,'' he says. The
special bridal wear collection designed by him is in winter-rich
shades like wine, burgundy, crimson red, fusia, magenta, gold,
dusky orange and in light colours like rose, pink, dull fusia,
off-white and dull magenta.
As for lehengas, they are with different silhouettes like A-line,
bias and flared cut details. The tops are sculptured in short and
long sizes to enhance the beauty of every bride. ``It is an
amalgam of different hues, glitters and ravishing style,'' he
assures.
Batra claims that fabrics for his collection are exclusively
sourced keeping up with the latest trends. His new refreshing
range is in brocades, jamavars, crushed crepes, satins, nets and
bandhanis/gharcolas, organza and tissues, all captivating with
versatile quality and understated elegance -- and seeing is
believing for people who consider this as an exaggeration.
As for his showroom -- Frontier Bazaar - located in the heart of
Karol Bagh, it has been designed keeping in mind the requirements
of different clients. ``There are separate floors of each
category, be it the fabrics, saris, readymades, lehenga cholis,
bridal wear and everything else that excites a woman,'' he says.
The ready-to-wear collections are based on blending traditional
sensibilities with modern spirits. The celebrated stroke
signature embroidery finds a perfect setting in the new ethnic
couture collection. ``Our winter collection will redefine ethnic
wear with a breath-taking array of vibrant colours in rich fabric
adorned with a spray of embroidery,'' Batra asserts.
The look, he adds is clean with emphasis on motifs and quality of
workmanship. As for the glittering Swarovski, they will be all
over, he says, adding : ``Our creative exclusive designs of
ready-to-wear line gives woman the magic for all her moods''.
So, let the most important person in you feel that the clothes on
your body not only make you beautiful but also reflect your
attitude. ``To make a woman look out of the world on the most
important day, nay on all occasions with confidence and control
-- that is my aim,'' boasts Batra.
