India to lift barriers on LoC for family reunions
In a historic decision, India today decided to lift barriers at specific locations along the Line of Control (LoC) so that Kashmiris living in PoK and those holding Pakistani passports could travel to Jammu and Kashmir.

Hurriyat leaders invited for tea party
The chairman of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference, Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, met the Pakistan High Commissioner, Mr. Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, last evening. After the meeting, the APHC leaders confirmed having received an invitation to attend a tea party the High Commissioner is hosting for the visiting Pakistan President, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, on July 14.

Sinha orders probe into UTI investment
The Union Finance Minister, Mr. Yashwant Sinha, today announced an independent, comprehensive inquiry into the investment patterns of the Unit Trust of India (UTI) over several years. It will also find out if there was any insider trading (availability of advance information) during the redemptions of US-64 in April and May this year.

No sign of Pak. granting MFN status
The Pakistan Government tonight sent yet another signal to India that unless the `centrality of Kashmir' was acknowledged as the factor responsible for bedevilling bilateral relations, it was not prepared for an engagement on `other issues.'

No problem about DGMO visit: Musharraf
The Pakistan President, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, has reacted positively to India's decision of sending its Director-General of Military Operations, Lt. Gen. G. S. Sihota, to Islamabad to begin talks on nuclear and security issues. Speaking to a group of journalists at his official residence in Rawalpindi on Sunday, the General said ``we have not been told officially (of the visit) at all. If the Indian DGMO wants to come, I do not see any problem in his coming here,'' he said.

Small delegation coming with Musharraf
The Pakistan President, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, would visit India with `a small delegation' comprising only the Foreign Minister, Mr. Abdul Sattar, and senior government officials, it was officially announced here today.
