Unwarranted remarks
Sir, - This has reference to ``Killing with kindness, Jaswant
style'' (July 18). Mr. Jaswant Singh's remarks on the
cancellation of the visit to Ajmer by General Musharraf are
unwarranted in one way. Let it be known to Mr. Jaswant Singh or
whoever has spoken to him about the great Hazrat of Ajmer, that
no human being, however great he may be, has been conferred the
power of calling people to his grave. Any human being who
practises religion sincerely will be endeared to the Almighty and
will be rewarded with the exalted position in the life hereafter.
The Holy Koran says: ``Verily, on the friends of Allah (those who
practise Islam in true spirit) there is no fear nor shall they
grieve'' (10:62). But in no way, they would be privileged to
contact the people across the border. There is no possibility of
any verbal contact, according to the Koran, between the dead and
the alive.
Abu Yusuf Faraaz,
