NEW DELHI, JULY 26. Mr. Robert Blackwill will take over as the
new U.S. Ambassador in India tomorrow. He was named by the U.S.
President, Mr. George W. Bush, on March 22 to take over from Mr.
Richard Celeste, a democrat nominee.
``Mr. Blackwill understands the important place India holds in my
foreign policy agenda, and he will be an outstanding American
ambassador to India.
He will bring a wealth of expertise to the position,'' Mr. Bush
said while nominating Mr. Blackwill.
