Janshankti to launch agitation

NEW DELHI, JULY 29.

The Lok Janshakti Party is launching a country-wide agitational programme from August 1 to 9 to press for acceptance of its nine- point charter. The party would also submit a memorandum based on these demands to the President, Mr. K. R. Narayanan on August 1.

In a statement here today, the party vice-president, Mr. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, said they would press for inclusion of the right To work, right to education and right to health as Fundamental Rights under the Constitution. To mark the beginning of the countrywide agitational programme, the party president, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan, will address a massive meeting in the Capital on August 1 before submitting the memorandum to the President.

On August 8, the party would hold ``torchlight processions'' in all State Capitals to highlight the charter. On August 9, a Jail Bharo Andolan would be kicked off in all the State Capitals. Mr. Paswan would address a huge rally on that day at Lucknow to mark the conclusion of the programme.

He said Mr. Paswan had nominated prominent leaders as observers for overseeing the programme. Capt. J.N. Prasad Nishad, has been made incharge of Bihar, Mr. Ram Chander Paswan, of Chandigarh, Haryana and Punjab, Mr. Ramesh Jhijigani, Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan would take care of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Satish Prasad Singh, will take care of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri will hold charge of Rajasthan, Mr. A.K. Bajpayee of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Lalit Kumar Gautam, Delhi and Mr. Satish Yadav, Maharashtra.
