Govt. taking all steps: CM
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, SEPT. 1. The government is taking all steps to rescue
the boy trapped in the private borewell in Mannadi for three days
now, the Chief Minister, Ms. Jayalalithaa assured the Assembly
today.
The City police had arrested the person who had sunk the borewell
into which the boy, Tamizhmani fell and continues to battle for
life, she said.
The Army was also helping in the efforts, she added.
Criticising media reports on lack of a coordinated rescue effort
by various government departments, the Chief Minister said the
English newspapers which had published the reports should desist
from issuing such ``hasty, false news out of bias.''
