AIADMK protests land acquisition for private hospital
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, SEPT. 1. Mr. A Anbalgan, AIADMK MLA and secretary of
the Puratchi Thalaivi Peravai, has protested against the move of
the Administration to make available large tracts of farm land to
a private medical college and hospital here. Referring to a
notification for land acquisition, he said a large number of
people in several segments including the Uppalam Assembly
constituency (from where he is elected) were living without a
shelter.
Houseless people in urban pockets were also not taken care of.
Instead of considering the plight of the havenots, the Government
had initiated steps to pamper private players.
(Already the BJP secretary, Mr. Ragu Sundararaman, registered his
protest against the Government making available the land to the
private medical college management, ``depriving farmers of their
source of livelihood'').
