Illegal arms factory unearthed
DEHRA DUN, SEPT. 1. The Uttaranchal police claim to have busted
an illegal arms factory near the Jim Corbett National Park and
arrested four poachers in this connection.
The arms factory was found at Laldhang area on the fringes of the
park on Thursday, the police said. A case under the Wildlife Act
has been registered against the poachers.
The Park director, Mr. D. S. Khati, said crude bombs made there
were used to kill animals in the park.
Meanwhile, the police are yet to make any breakthrough in the
case related to the killing of Deputy Forest Ranger Bipin Chandra
Pandey on Tuesday.
The five suspected poachers, involved in the killing of Pandey,
also shot and injured three other forest guards.
