No rift with PM: Jana
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, SEPT. 8. The BJP President, Mr. K. Jana Krishnamurthy,
today said he had no differences with Mr. Vajpayee on the Cabinet
reshuffle, which was the latter's prerogative.
In an informal chat with mediapersons, the BJP chief said he
could not be present at last Saturday's Cabinet expansion since
his travel plans for Ujjain that day was fixed in advance.
Mr. Krishnamurthy said there was no need for the Prime Minister
to consult him on Cabinet reshuffle adding that such an exercise
with the party chief may have been necessary when the Cabinet was
formed for the first time. There was good rapport and co-
ordination between the party and the Government. He said the
party lays down policies, while running of the Government was the
business of the Prime Minister.
