Is U.S. more equal?
Sir, - Prof. P. Radhakrishnan's (Sept. 24) critique of current
U.S. retaliatory policy is timely and relevant. Drawing parallels
between the U.S. and India, he rightly points out that the U.S
practises one kind of moralism while imposing another on
developing countries.
But there is another parallel that he appears to have missed -
the U.S. trained and equipped the Taliban, just as India did with
the LTTE. And by Prof. Radhakrishnan's logic, Colombo had a
powerful case to bomb New Delhi, long before the LTTE
assassinated Rajiv Gandhi.
