Humpy leads the pack
HYDERABAD, OCT. 14. Woman Grandmaster Koneru Humpy emerged the
sole leader with six points at the end of the eighth round in the
First Saturday Grandmasters chess tournament being held in
Hungary, according to information received here.
The 14-year-old World junior champion, playing white, beat
Mahammad-Al-Sayed of Qatar in 48 moves to stay clear of the
field.
IM Peter Horvath and IM Attila Jakob, both from Hungary, were
joint-second with 5.5 points each.
The Vijayawada girl now needs another 2.5 points from the next
three games to get her second GM norm in the men's section.
