Opposition seeking to cancel poll: CM
By Our Staff Reporter
ANDIPATTI, FEB 7. The Chief Minister, O. Paneerselvam, today charged that the Opposition and the Union Minister, T.R. Baalu, had violated the election code.
Addressing a huge gathering at Jayamangalam, he said the Minister, who took oath to maintain the dignity of his office, campaigned in the name of caste.
The Opposition came in many vehicles and indulged in ``all kinds of violations'' in order to cancel the polls. They (Stalin campaigners) openly said ``they had not come here for votes, but to stop the elections. They are determined to cancel the polls,'' he said declaring ``No one can stop it.''
There was a heavy crowd on both sides of the road at Vadugapatti, Jeyamangalam and Melmangalam and Keezhmangalam in the Periakulam union. People were seen waiting with `arathi' and `poorna kumbam.'
