Putin to brief Vajpayee

Moscow Feb. 6. The Russian President, Vladimir Putin is expected to call up Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee tomorrow and brief him on his just-concluded talks with the Pakistani President, Pervez Musharraf, in yet another manifestation of camaraderie between Moscow and New Delhi.

Mr. Putin is expected to speak to Mr. Vajpayee on telephone to ``compare notes'' in the spirit of Indo-Russian strategic partnership which provides for sustaining a trustful dialogue between the two countries, Kremlin sources said.

Mr. Putin had spoken to Mr. Vajpayee shortly ahead of the arrival of Gen. Musharraf here on Tuesday last on his first-ever visit by a Pakistan head of state. — PTI
